Inside Our Investigation Support

How Our In‑House Investigator Supports Your Defense

At Monroe Law, P.A., every case receives more than a standard legal review. In addition to our attorneys, our in-house investigator, a retired law enforcement officer, carefully examines the facts behind each charge. His background includes 20 years in law enforcement, training other officers, and working for the State Attorney's Office as an investigator. We use this combined experience to look at cases from multiple angles and uncover details that might otherwise be overlooked.

Our investigator reviews every new case file closely and methodically. He approaches the materials the way a law enforcement officer would, but now with the goal of protecting the client’s rights. That means evaluating how the investigation was handled, what steps were taken, and where gaps may exist in the evidence. By pairing this investigative lens with our legal analysis, we aim to build a more complete picture of what actually happened.

As he explains in the video,

“Every case that comes in here, I'm going through with a fine tooth comb.”

That level of review is layered onto the work our attorneys already perform. We examine reports, statements, and other materials for legal issues, while he evaluates them for practical and procedural issues rooted in his years in law enforcement and at the State Attorney’s Office. Together, we look to see if something was done incorrectly, if a step was missed, or if there is additional evidence that should be gathered. This collaborative process gives each client another set of informed eyes on their case.

Our investigator also highlights the value of having different perspectives on the same set of facts. While our attorneys focus on legal strategy and advocacy, he focuses on how an officer or prosecutor might view the file. That contrast can reveal weak points in the State’s case or opportunities for additional investigation. When we integrate those insights into our approach, we are better equipped to address issues in negotiations and in the courtroom.

In the video, he notes that this review is built into the way we handle cases, not treated as an add-on.

“In other words, you're just getting another set of eyes on your case.”

Clients do not see separate fees for his work, yet they still receive the benefit of his experience and attention to detail. From our perspective, this is simply part of delivering thorough, client-centered representation. Every file that comes through our office receives that additional care, so clients can feel confident that their case is not being rushed or treated as routine.

Ultimately, the presence of an in-house investigator at Monroe Law, P.A. reflects how seriously we take each matter we handle. We want to understand not only what is in the reports, but also what may be missing. By combining legal advocacy with a detailed investigative review, we work to ensure that important questions are asked and potential issues are fully explored.
